DELTA: Uduaghan Wants Private Sector Partnership For Economic Development
Delta State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has invited the private sector to partner with him in the onerous task of accelerating the economic development of the state.
Dr. Uduaghan, who made the call at a reception organised by Chief Sunny Odogwu during a thanksgiving memorial service for his late parents Obi Robert Odogwu and Mary Odogwu said the active participation of the private sector was vital in improving the living standard of the people.
Reflecting on the contributions of prominent Deltans towards accelerating the growth of infrastructure in the state the governor described Chief Sunny Odogwu as one of the strong pillars of his administration.
He said Chief Odogwu has made gigantic contributions towards the industrialisation of the state and urged other eminent Deltans both home and in Diaspora to emulate the shining example.
Dr. Uduaghan, who disclosed that Chief Odogwu embarks on advocacy programme on behalf of his administration explained further “Chief Odogwu speaks to people and solicits for support on behalf of my government. He also talks to me and offers a lot of advice. Indeed his contributions are unquantifiable.”
The governor paid glowing tribute to the parents of Chief Odogwu and remarked that if they did not give Chief Odogwu proper upbringing and opportunities, the remembrance memorial service would probably not have taken place.
He therefore enjoined parents to give their children the required support to enable them move ahead and succeed in life.
In his remarks, the Ideh of Asaba Chief Sunny Odogwu said the memorial service was held to remember his parents who worked so hard to give them a life line while alive. Chief Odogwu commended the governor for attending the ceremony inspite of his crowded programme.
He said the governor’s presence meant a lot to him and the people of Asaba even as he promised to continue to support his administration.
