Refresher Course For LG Staff Begins Today
The Refresher Course for the 2009 Confirmation and Promotion Compulsory Examination for Clerical, Sub clerical and Allied Staff of the 23 local governments in the state begins in the state capital today.
This was disclosed in Port Harcourt by the Director of Management Services and Training in the Establishments, Training and Pension Bureau, Office of the Head of Service, Mr Chinda Wali while speaking with journalists in his office.
Mr Wali said that the Permanent Secretary in the Establishments, Training Bureau, Mr Chima Ake will be special guest of honour while the secretary of the state local government service commission, Barrister Ransome West will chair the opening ceremony.
The director explained that the refresher course would last for two weeks to prepare participants for the compulsory examination.
He stated that the opening ceremony would take place at the First Floor of the Podium Block Conference Hall, Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt by 10.00 a.m.
Mr Wali advised all staff that have registered for the course to attend the opening ceremony as scheduled and added that attendance was compulsory.
