Alaibe Now Special Adviser On N’Delta
President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has approved the appointment of the former Executive Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe, as Special Adviser on Niger Delta region.
A statement from the office of the President’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. O. Adeleye, said the appointment was confirmed recently in Abuja.
The statement said the appointment of the former NDDC director was to strengthen Yar’Adua’s administration’s commitment to tackle the problems of the region.
The statement further said that the appointment of Timi Alaibe was an indication of straight forwardness of President Yar’Adua on the post- amnesty programme.
Timi Alaibe was former Executive Director, Finance and Administration of NDDC between 2003 and 2006.
He was also appointed as Chief Executive Director of NDDC Board from 2007 to 2009.
Timi Alaibe was later appointed by President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua as Special Adviser to Federal Government on amnesty programe.
Recently, President Yar’Adua approved appointment of Timi Alaibe as Special Adviser on Niger Delta matters.
Speaking with The Tide on phone, the newly appointed Special Adviser, Alaibe, thanked President Yar’Adua for the appointment.
He promised that he would put in his best in his new assignment to ensure that issues of underdevelopment of the oil-rich region is tackled.
Timi Alaibe said, that the Federal Government under the present leadership of President yar’Adua, has really shown its commitment to change the dark days of the Niger Delta region to brighter days.
