NYCN Hails Edo Govt On Job Creation For Youths
Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Edo State, Mr Osahon Obasuyi, has commended the state government for creating jobs and organising enlightenment programmes for youths in the state.
Obasuyi gave the commendation in an interview with newsmen last Saturday in Benin.
He said that the council was impressed with the state government’s commitment to job creation, especially the establishment of a production centre for youths in the state.
Obasuyi, however, appealed to government to create more jobs and production centres across the three senatorial districts so as to gainfully engage more youths in the state.
He also advised the youth to take all the empowerment programmes of the state government seriously.
“We have been able to initiate some programmes to tackle social vices like drugs abuse, illegal migration, cultism and suicide in the state.
“We have also empowered youths in the state and organised enlightenment programmes to tackle drug abuse”, he said.
Obasuyi said that the NYCN in the state would always stand for the youth to ensure that they benefited from the programmes being organised by the government.
He said that the NYCN was planning to organise a security summit for the youth and security agencies in the state as a way of addressing issues of insecurity and criminality in the state.
According to him, NYCN is working hard to ensure that the state is free from social vices.
