Nigeria Wins First Match At ICC World T-20
The Nigeria Cricket team last weekend started the ICC World T-20 North-Western qualifier on a good note, defeating Serria Leone by 88runs.
Nigeria battled 165runs in the first innings with six wickets and 20 overs at the event holding at the Tafawa Balewa Square cricket oval in Lagos.
In the second innings, Sierra Leone batted 77runs all out in 18.1 overs.
Captain of the Nigerian team, Chimezie Onwuzulike told newsmen that he was happy with his team’s victory over Sierria Leone.
Onwuzulike, who won Man of the Match Award, said that the national side was able to restrict its opponent, while batting and bowling.
“I am happy with our first win in this competition, the win is a major one for the team and we intend to improve on our performance as the qualifiers progress”, he said.
Also, Coach of the national side, Ogbemi Uthe, commended his team for playing to instruction all through the match.
