Rivers United Thrashes Rangers 3-1

Rivers United FC,
yesterday at Yakubu Gown, Stadium Port Harcourt increased their chances to play in the convent next season as they thrashed the current leaders of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Rangers FC of Enugu 3-1.
Homeboy, Ovoke Bernard open the net on a spot kick at 16th minute, after the centre referee denied the host two consecutive penalties at fifth and 14th minute in the First Stanza.
The one goal lead further energized the homeboys, as Fans were continuously hailing the players, which earned them another fantastic goal from, Christian Weli through a well leveled shot from the 25 yards.
Before the close of the First Phase Ovoke scored a brace at the 45th Minute.
In assumption, the visitors raised their game and search to redeem their image which was fruitful as they scored 47th minute. Shortly after that the visitor made more effort but yield no front.
Speaking shortly after the match the supporters club chairman of Rivers United, Franklin Owhor expressed confidence that his team would go far, following their current performance.
He said he is pressed with the play, especially their co-ordination in the pitch and determination been demonstrated against the high rated and current leaders of the table.
Owhor, advised the players to continue this feat to enable their finish tops on the log.
