‘Enyimba ’ll Advance In Champions League’
Enyimba captain Chinedu
Udoji has said that they will advance to the second round of the CAF Champions League despite a slim 1-0 home win over Egypt’s Smouha.
The two-time African champions needed a second half goal to shade the first encounter in Aba on Sunday and face a very daunting return clash in Egypt in a fortnight.
Udoji admitted it was tough to go past Smouha in front of their fans, but Enyimba will record a double over the Egyptians with another win on the road.
“Smouha are a good side, they came here to draw. But we still found a way to win. We thank God for the victory. We will go to Egypt for victory and qualify for the next round of the competition,” Udoji told newsmen shortly after the keenly contested game in Aba.
Enyimba beat Buffles du Borgu home and away in the preliminary round to reach the first round stage.
