‘Team Rivers ‘ll Continue To Lead’
Chief Coach of Rivers State Traditional Sports, Abula, Paul Asaah, has said that Rivers State will continue to lead other states in the sport including the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival.
Coach Asaah, who said this in an interview with Tidesports at the last concluded National School Sports Festival (NSSF) at the Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex, disclosed that, Abula won three gold medals at stake.
“The State won three medals at the 17th and 18th National Sports Fiesta, as well as the NSSF held in the state. This means that Rivers State is good at the sport and have been able to prove this beyond reasonable doubts,” he declared.
He further assured that team Rivers Abula would continue to break grounds adding that efforts have been put in place to ensure the growth of the sport in the State.
He also promised to retain the medal won at the 18th NSF, “Eko 2012” and the 5th NSSF during the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival and the National Schools Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Calabar respectively.
He used the opportunity to disclose that preparations are in top gear ahead of National Sports festival adding that he would soon embark on talents discovery in schools across the state.
