Amaechi Wants Shippers Council To Be Result – Oriented
Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has called on the newly elected Executive of Rivers/Bayelsa Chapter of Nigerian Shippers Council to be result-oriented.
The Governor made the call while speaking at the Shippers enlightenment Seminar with the theme: Import/Export documentation procedure, the Shippers challenges and induction on newly elected Executive of the council the Landmark Hotel, Port Harcourt.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Emmanuel Alex Hart, Amaechi said Government would provide an enabling environment to improve the economic base of the State.
He appealed to the Nigerian Shippers Council to demonstrate a high since of honesty, transparency and accountability.
In his address, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of NSC Captain Adamu Biu spoke of the importance of the seminar as knowledge sharing, adding that the Shippers Council would offer constructive advice to the Government on matters relating to the shipment of goods and services.
The newly inducted president of the Association Mr. Ofor Udofia on who spoke on behalf of members of his Executive thanked the Governor and members of the Shippers Council for the opportunity to serve and pledged that the Shippers Council will partner with the Government to achieve a good shipping practice.
