Plane Crash Survivor Decries State Of PH Airport
One of the two survivors of Sosoliso plane crash in Port Harcourt, about 12 years ago, Kechi Okwuchi, has lamented the poor state of infrastructure at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwu since after the fatal crash.
Okwuchi, who was visibly angry over the state of the airport on her arrival at the airport for the first time after her narrow escape from death, said, she is very surprised at what she saw at the airport after so many years”.
“I find it difficult to believe that this airport is still in this form. Is the Federal Government really serious to run this airport?” she asked.
“I don’t think there is any other airport in the world that is still like this in this modern age, even the other countries that we call poor countries in Africa. This place is like a jungle where canopies are used as arrival terminal”, she said.
Okwuchi, who is now earning her living through music in Europe, is the only surviving daughter of her parents.
The scar of burns on her body could be seen after several plastic surgeries she went through.
The Tide gathered that, Okwuchi was not ruffled with that, but was bold to express how she felt about of the airport where she almost lost her life.
Some of her well-wishers and family friends who came to receive her at the airport were full of praise to God for her survival of the Sosoliso plane crash.
It would be recalled that on the 10th of December, 2005, the Sosoliso flight carrying mainly students from Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja, among other passengers caught fire at the Port Harcourt Airport while landing.
