School Proprietors Caution Against Exam Malpractices
The Chairman, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) in Nsukka, Mr Godwin Ejiofor, says that the union will not condone examination malpractice.
Ejiofor who made this known in an interview with newsmen in Nsukka recently, said examination malpractice was stealing and that any NAPPS member caught during external examinations like WAEC and NECO would be sanctioned.
“NAPPS has zero-tolerance for examination malpractice and will sanction any erring member. The association is also against using its schools as examination miracle centres. “As a man of God, I will be sinning against God if I harbour one aiding and abetting examination malpractice. “NAPPS ensures that teachers in private schools teach students very well so that they will write with confidence both in internal and external examinations,” he said.
He urged private school proprietors in the zone yet to register with the association to do so in order to ensure quality education in all private schools in the zone.
The chairman pleaded with State Government to always remember private schools while providing equipment and instructional materials for public schools.
Ejiofor noted that pupils and students in private schools were also citizens of the country.
“Government should consider private schools when making budget for education in the country. “Students from private schools in the country have brought honours to the country nationally and internationally. “NAPPs will continue to ensure that quality of education and discipline in private schools are maintained in order to ensure bright future of Nigeria children,” he added.
