Ikuru Urges Faith In God
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, says Christians should continue to rely on God as the ultimate source of power and upliftment.
Engr. Ikuru said this at the thanksgiving service in honour of the Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese, Rt. Rev Raphael Ebirien, at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Ekede, Andoni Local Government Area of the state.
Accompanied by the chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Mr. Orom Nte Ereforokuma, his predecessor, Mr. Kingston Sylvanus, Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Andoni chapter, amongst others, the Deputy Governor said he was at Ekede to felicitate with Bishop Ebirien on the celebration of the multiple successes recorded by the Bishop’s family.
He expressed delight over the Bishop’s elevation to the leadership of the diocese, the successful retirement of his wife from the State Civil Service and successful graduation of his children from various tertiary institutions, noting that God uplifts people who have no godfathers.
Speaking, Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Mr. Orom Nte Ereforokuma, attributed Bishop Ebirien’s elevation in the ministry as divine providence, describing the cleric as “the Elijah of our times who has brought blessings to Andoni”. He also enjoined him to continue to pray for the government to accomplish its goals of bringing electricity and roads to Andoni.
He expressed optimism that necessary infrastructure that would improve the living standards of the people would be provided for the various parts of the LGA before the end of his tenure and that of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
