Nyenwe-Eli Nsirim made the call Tuesday in his palace while swearing in nine new chiefs into his council.
He noted that as custodians of the peoples culture, they should not involve in acts of bribery before dispensing justice to the people nor should they take undue advantage of their positions of trust take what does not belong to them stressing that such was against the culture and tradition of the kingdom as bequeathed to them by their forefathers.
He maintained that by being exemplary in their conduct, it would be easier for them to maintain peace and command respect of the people in their various communities.
Among those capped by Nyenwe-Eli Nsirim were Chief Chidi Godfrey Owhondah, Chief Author Jacob, Chief Godwin Akaninwor, Chief Charles Amadi, and Sunny Emenike Otubadu.
Others were Chief Felix Eme Worlu, Chief Godpower Amadi, Chief Uchenna J. Williams Chinda (JP) and Chief Aleruchi Chukwu.
Responding on behalf of the newly crowned Chief, Chief Sunny Eme Otubadu expressed gratitude to God and the people for the call to service adding that,” we shall use the staff of office given to us today well to bring about peace and continued unity in our various families, Rumueme and Rivers State in general.”
He promised that they shall not use their position against the people but to promote peace in the area and prayed God for continued wisdom to pilot their affairs.
