‘ICT, Fastest, Safest Business’
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been described as the fastest and safest business in the world.
One of the media aids to Emohua Local Government Council Chairman, Mr Levi Isu Success made the observation during the week in a chat with The Tide in the council’s headquarters Emohua.
Mr Success, said ICT should be introduced in all areas of human endeavour for speedy transactions.
About the ICT centre at the council’s headquarters, he said much work has been done to upgrade it to a world class status.
The centre which is headed by the Emohua Local Government chapter chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Comrade Chijoke Onuegbu is among the prime ICT centres in the state.
According to him, the centre will afford Emohua people the opportunity to acquire first-hand computer knowledge.
He stated that it was high time local government administration joined the league of developing nations by abandoning manual typewriters completely and embracing the ICT world.
He explained that the council under the leadership of Chief Allen Nma will transform the entire system of the council until it became totally digitalised.
“Our target in EMOLGA is to ensure that every system in the council will be digitalised.
“The manual era of administration is gradually phasing out and EMOLGA must join the moving train”, he said.
Earlier, he informed that the council’s ICT centre will also provide computer and other internet training opportunities for all in the area.
