Gov Advises Women On Child Upbringing
Rivers State Governor, Rt.
Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has charged women to take the upbringing of their children serious in order to positively contribute to societal development.
Governor Amaechi gave this charge last Saturday, during the Funeral Service of Late Mrs Zilpah Dienye at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Egwede in Andoni local government area of the state.
Represented by his deputy, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Governor Amaechi called on women to appreciate the enormous role they play in ensuring peace, ethics and moral rectitude in the society through proper upbringing of their children, advising them to emulate the deceased in raising their offspring to excel in different walks of life.
The state chief executive condoled with the bereaved family on the loss of their matriarch, and described late Mrs Dienye as “an exceptional woman who added value to society through her dedication, forthrightness and piety”, urging them to “take solace in the fact that she left indelible footprints in the sands of time”.
Earlier, in his sermon titled “Love Your Wife”, quoting from Genesis 2 verse 18, Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Rt. Reverend Raphael Ebirien, praised the sterling qualities of the deceased, counseling women to follow her example of winsome character, submissiveness and motherly attributes exhibited by her during her lifetime.
Speaking, Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Mr. Orom Nte Eroforokuma, lauded late Mrs Dienye for her commitment to giving her children the best education, which he said has paid off, thanking God for the life she lived, pointing out that the achievements recorded by her offspring in diverse fields of human endeavour qualify her for a place in the annals of motherhood in the Obolo (Andoni) nation.
