Philippine Government Pledges Support For ESI Programmes
The Republic of Philippine has pledged to assist the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI) to develop its programmes in-line with best practices.
The Philippine Ambassador to Nigeria Alex Lamadrid stated this Wednesday during a courtesy call on the wife of Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi at Government House, Port Harcourt. Ambassador Alex Lamadrid said the ESI a non-governmental organisation founded by Mrs Amaechi is anchored on transparent policy, adding that its objectives and programmes are capable of alleviating poverty among the people. The Philippine envoy lauded the various developmental effort of the NGO and asserted its government readiness to partner with it in all ramification “I am aware of the laudable projects of ESI, its programme has human face, we are ready to assist you in all ramification and in any area”, he said.
The wife of Rivers State Governor Dame Judith Amaechi expressed gratitude to the Philippine Ambassador and called on investors to avail themselves of the peace and stability that has returned to the state to promote their business. Mrs Amaechi said Rivers State has great investment potential in all ramifications and is poised to protect lives and property.
She added that her NGO will liaise and partner with the Philippine government in the area of textile and garment manufacturing in order to provide gainful employment for the people.
