We’re Focused On People-Oriented Projects -Odu
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu, says the Governor Siminalayi Fubara-led Administration is focused on people oriented interventions and projects.
Prof. Odu stated this while playing host to members of the Rivers State branch of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
This was contained in a statement by the Head of Press, Deputy Governor’s Office, Port Harcourt, Owupele Benebo, on Wednesday.
Prof. Odu said “The present Administration will continue to implement programmes and policies that can positively impact on the people directly or indirectly that is why you can see him rolling out some of these things you do not see, but you can feel it. You felt the N100, 000 during the Christmas bonus, you felt the promotion, people going on the road may not see but it is real”.The deputy governor urged civil servants to encourage the governor, by letting him know they are grateful for what he has done, noting that when you express appreciation for what somebody has done for you, the person will do more.
”I want to reassure you that he will definitely do more by God’s Grace, despite the distractions, he will continue to do things that will positively impact on the people, as you know both of us are coming from the Civil Service background, so definitely we know where the shoe pinches and understand what you are going through, and I believe that God will help us to make you happy”, she said.
In his remarks, the President of the State Branch of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, Ven. Innocent Umesi, expressed gratitude to Governor Fubara for the implementation of their promotions which the last administration stopped, noting that this singular act has shown that the governor’s word is his bond.
The ANCOPSS President, who said they were eager, willing and ever ready to partner with the State Government, also thanked the State Government for the prompt payment of teacher’s salaries and payment of registration fees of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and NECO Examination to aid indigent parents and students in the State.
