Police Nab UNIPORT Student For Organ Harvest, Murder …Parades Medical Doctor For Child Trafficking

A 400 level student of Petrochemical Engineering, University of Port Harcourt, Mr Demain Okoligwe, was among the suspects paraded by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Emeka Nwoyi, for alleged murder and organ harvesting of one Miss Justina Otuene, a 300 level Biochemistry student of the same institution.
The police also paraded a medical doctor and a member of NMA in the State, Dr Enyinna Ihechukwumere, popularly called ‘Dr Hagi’ who owned a hospital at Igwuruta for child trafficking and selling of children.
The Commissioner of Police, while parading the alleged suspects before newsmen at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt, yesterday, said Okoligwe was arrested by the help of a neighbour who reported an offensive odour oozing out from the apartment of the alleged suspect in Port Harcourt.
According to him, “On Wednesday, 25/10/23 at about 15.30hrs, operatives of Ozuoba Division received a complaint from a good samaritan and neighbour, name withheld, of Road 20, back of NTA Ozuoba” who alerted the Police about offensive odour oozing out from the suspect’s apartment.
He said the DPO immediately led detectives to the suspect’s house, forcefully opened the door and discovered a Ghana must-go bag containing a lifeless body of the deceased.
He added that the lifeless body of the deceased, Justina Otuene ‘f’ 20 years, had been deposited at a mortuary.
Nwoyi stated that a preliminary investigation is in progress while the case has been transferred to SCID for discreet investigation.
The CP while condoling with the bereaved family on behalf of the Command, urged young ladies to be cautious and careful about person they involve with in relationship.
The CP also told journalists that a case of abduction was reported on 09/09/2023 at about 16.50hrs by one Ijeoma James ‘f’, 35 years old, in Awalama Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt, that one Promise ‘m’ came into their compound and stole her four-year old son, Prosper James, and all efforts to locate her child had proved abortive.
Nwoyi disclosed that detectives of the Special Area Division swung into action and arrested one Ifesinachi Opara ‘m’, leading to the arrest of yet another suspect, one Happiness, Enyinnaya Iheukwumere, A.K.A. Dr. Hagi, to whom he sold the child.
“Through Further investigation also led to the recovery of three more children trafficked by Dr. Hagi from different locations of the country: three from Benue State, Benedict Kpaaka one year, seven month old, Godgift Julius 4 years old, and one Philomina ‘f’ 6 years old, all rescued from different locations in Port Harcourt where they had been sold.
Further investigation revealed that one Angel Shimeson ‘f’, 25 years old, from Makurdi still (at large), is the supplier of the children to Dr. Hagi.
Effort is being intensified to arrest the culprit.” he stated.
“On 25/10/2023, a combined surveillance team comprised of police, civil defense, the Nigerian Army, and some civilian JTF was on routine surveillance patrol at Abili Service Integrated Company attached to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, Ob/Ob Gas Plant Obrikom Onelga Ukpeliede Community in Ahoada-West LGA in Rivers State. Five suspected Ice-landers confraternities are presumed to have a hand in the death of the late DPO of Ahoada, SP. Bako Angbashim.
“They were brought to Area Command Omoku with the following items: two locally made guns, three live cartridges, and one wrist charm.
“One of the suspects, named Ebere Uzorma, aged 35 years who sustained injuries in his last operation at Kumacy Camp in Ahoada West, was rushed to General Hospital Omoku for treatment, where he was confirmed dead by a Doctor on duty.
“The corpse was deposited at the same General Hospital Mortuary Omoku for autopsy, while the five arrested suspects, namely, Bestman Friday Agbani ‘m’, Samuel Uchendu ‘m’, Abraham Ede ‘m’, are in police custody for detail investigation.
”I am calling on residents of the state to be open and support crime fighting in the State”, Nwoyi said.
