Diri Guarantees Adequate Security For NYSC Members
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has assured National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of adequate security and welfare during their service year.
According to him, the security and welfare of corps members remain the top priorities of the government to enable them to serve the nation.
Gov Diri, represented by his executive assistant on NYSC matters, Wisdom Poyeri, gave this assurance while presiding over the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘B” Stream I Orientation Course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Boro Town.
He said the government under his leadership will continue to provide a conducive environment for corps members to have a rewarding service year in Bayelsa State.
He directed all security agencies in the state to provide adequate security to NYSC members, whom he cautioned against truancy, absenteeism, and redundancy.
Earlier, the state NYSC coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, thanked the corps members and camp officials for their high level of discipline that ensured a hitch-free orientation course.
She also called on NYSC members to emulate their predecessors by carrying out their duties diligently, describing primary and secondary assignments as important.
