By: Theresa Frederick & Charity Amiso
Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Hon Vincent Nemieboka, has assured decampees from the major opposition party in the State, All Progressives Congress (APC), of equal treatment in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This assurance came at the heels of the recent decamping of more members from the APC, who pledged their allegiance to the PDP in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area.
Addressing the returnees at the Council’s Secretariat in Ogu, Hon Nemieboka expressed appreciation to the returnees for the decision they have made to return to PDP.
He assured them that they would be fully incorporated into the affairs of the party at all levels and hence would not regret the decision they have made.
He further assured them that PDP will emerge victorious at the polls 2023 polls.
He enjoined them to go back to their various wards and units to register as members of PDP to get their Party Card and be bona fide members of the party.
The LG boss charged them to always be respectful to leaders of APC whenever they see them on the road, even as their loyalty and allegiance is now to the PDP.
He further assured them of inclusion into the Skill Acquisition Program that is about to start to give equal opportunity to those interested.
Also Speaking, the immediate past Chairman of APC, Ogu/Bolo LGA Chapter, Hon Tamunosiki Tiene, thanked the Council boss for the opportunity he has given them.
He noted that everyone in the hall was a card carrying member of the APC, but “they have been deceived with empty promises for so long and they have finally realized the truth that APC is a total failure and have decided to dump the sinking ship.”
Prominent members of the APC in Ogu/Bolo LGA and their supporters, who had recently decamped, where at the Isaac Boro Memorial Park, where they dumped their brooms (a symbol of the APC) and picked up the Umbrella (symbol of PDP).
