Recruitment Centre Dismisses Allegation Against Council Chairman
The Chairman of Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre ( BIRC), Amasenibo Banigo Leowil,has dismissed allegation made by a group that the Chairman of the Local Government Council, Hon Anengi Barasua, was interfering in the activities of the Recruitment Bureau.
He stated that the allegation was built on falsehood and characterised with lies and unfounded rumour, saying that there is no time the people of Finima have been short-changed in their employment quota.
Leowil said this while reacting to an allegation made against the Chairman of the area, at the weekend in Bonny, adding that the rumour was misleading and capable of breaching the existing peace in the area.
“I want to say that the story of Finima people being short-changed in their employment quota was totally untrue and a mere allegation carried out by mischievous people whose stock in trade is to foment crisis. Consequently, I urge the people of Finima, Bonny and the public to disregard such rumours,” Leowil said.
Earlier ,the Vice Chairman of BIRC, Gift Tobin, an indigene of Finima had narrated about a meeting held between former Deputy Governor of the State, Sir Gabriel Toby and the entire leadership of Finima Community
According to him, the agreement reached in the meeting was that 40 percent employment opportunities should be given to each of the three major houses: Brown, Tobin and Atonye Houses.
“ I expected the people of Bonny to commend the Chairman of the council for returning peace and unity to the area”, Tobin said.
Also speaking, the former President of Finima Youth, Daba Soala said employment issue in Bonny has never been a problem.
“ I am not really happy over what I described as unnecessary accusation levelled against the Chaiman of the area.
“ As I know, the youths of Finima and Bonny are strongly in support of the leadership style of Hon. Barasua,” he said.
