…Ugwuanyi, Enugu PDP Endorse Wike
Enugu State Governor, Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the key South-East state, have endorsed the presidential bid of Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike in the 2023 elections.
They gave their nod to Wike’s ambition when the Rivers State governor led a delegation of his supporters across the country on a consultative meeting with the state’s special PDP stakeholders’ forum organised by Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, on March 27.
The Rivers State governor, who was given rousing reception by PDP big wigs in Enugu, was guest of honour at the special PDP stakeholders’ meeting.
The meeting was attended by several Enugu State PDP leaders, including the Speaker, Hon Edward Obosi, and members of the state House of Assembly.
Others, who participated in the special meeting, were the National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South-East Zone, Ali Odefa; and the Enugu State Chairman of the party, Augustine Nnamani.
The rest in attendance were members of Enugu State National Assembly caucus, and other senior stakeholders and leaders.
At the end of the special PDP stakeholders’ meeting, the leaders adopted a resolution calling for the zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to the South.
The stakeholders also assured the Rivers State governor of their support in his bid to clinch the party’s ticket for the presidential election in 2023.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
