‘Govt Responsible For Providing Enabling Environment For Businesses’
The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Engr. Samuel Nwanosike, has stated that government was responsible for the provision of enabling environment for businessmen in order for them to develop the economy.
Nwanosike stated this, last Saturday, during the opening ceremony of Samsuzzy LG Electronics Shop, Igwuruta in the area.
According to him, “What government is responsible is to provide the enabling environment. Create a secured environment; private businessmen will develop in the economy. All over the world it’s a practice”.
The chairman said the business was established within the area because his administration fought insecurity and made the area safe for businessmen and people to live in.
“Because we fought insecurity in Ikwerre Local Government, Ikwerre became safe for people to come and do business and live. That’s why you can see this wonderful edifice and this great business being established today”, he averred.
Nwanosike used the opportunity to call on other investors to come to Ikwerre to establish their businesses, saying that the areawas the new Port Harcourt City.
He said, “I want to cease this opportunity to also encourage other investors and other businessmen to see Ikwerre Local Government as a next destination that they can come and grow their business.
“If you imagine the growth of Port Harcourt City, you will understand that this is the new Port Harcourt City. And we can’t build a new Port Harcourt City without your support”.
Nwanosike assured the owner of the Samsuzzy’s Electronics Shop of the council’s partnership and continued safe environment for him and other investors.
