Gov Tasks PDP On E-Registration
The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has commenced the electronic registration and revalidation of its members in order to expand its membership base in the state.
The State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, who performed the flag off ceremony at the Ibom Hall, Uyo, enjoined the party faithful to take advantage of the exercise to update their membership.
He said, “I am glad that Akwa Ibom is chosen as one of the states by our party for a scheme of this nature.
“We got everything ready for the exercise, and you could see the speed at which my information was captured immediately.
“I want to implore all of us to make sure we register; this will mean a whole lot to us as a state and to the party. This is easily adaptive to my smartphone.
Emmanuel further advised party members to accommodate one another, noting that there was strength in unity.
The State PDP Chairman, Mr Aniekan Akpan, said the exercise was in sync with an earlier flag-off of the exercise in six other PDP states across the country.
Akpan described the e-registration and revalidation of party members as historic. He said, “This exercise, we strongly believe as a party, will ensure that we migrate from the analogue process of registration to a digital process”.
