PH Ladies Open Golf Championship Tees Off
The Port Harcourt Ladies Open Golf Championship will officially tee off this weekend with over 150 golfers competing for honours, as caddies have already commenced its competition on Monday.
Organisers of the tournament has set aside mouth-watering prizes in various categories and the grand finale is to hold on Sunday.
Lady captain of the Port Harcourt Club golf section (ladies sub-section), Lady Lizzy Dike who made this known in an exclusive interview with Tide-sports, said that every logistics have been put in place to make the tournament a huge success.
According to her, this year’s edition of the tournament promises to be exciting.
Over 150 golfers have registered for the tournament and the theme for the open is tagged “gathering of champions.”
Every competitor is a champion and all the champions across the various golf clubs in the country will be gathered in Port Harcourt where the overall winner will emerge,” she revealed.
Lady Dike further said the tournament will be played under Covid-19 protocol and advised all the participants to adhere to the rules so as to stay safe and be healthy as they compete on the open.
She, however, heaped praises on the various sponsors of the tournament who rallied round her and her exco to ensure the tournament came to fruition, adding that companies, indivi-duals and corporate organisations who bank rolled the open will be honoured atthe grand finale with an award of distinction and trophy in appreciation of their support and sponsorship.
