Former General Manager Goes Home
The remains of the former General Manager of Treasure FM, Madam Regina Daka-Osika are to be laid to rest at the weekend at Osikakiri War Canoe House in Wakirike Local Government Area of Rivers State.
A statement released by the family of the deceased indicates that a service of songs will be held in her honour today at the Shepherd House Assembly, Oroazi in Port Harcourt at 4pm.
The commendation service, will take place at the No. 5 Field, opposite 174 Bende Street, Port Harcourt Township on Saturday, March 20, 2021 making a brief stopover at the deceased’s home, the Shepherd’s House Assembly, FRCN, Treasure FM premises and the NUJ Press Centre.
Gina as she was fondly called started her career at the Voice of Nigeria, FRCN. She served as the General Manager of both Treasure FM, Rivers State, Creek FM, Bayelsa State, from where she moved to Umuahia and later Enugu, as the Coordinator of the South-East zone of the FRCN.
She also served as Special Assistant, Media to one time Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Mrs Ibim Semenitari.
Late Gina was a driving force in the formation of NAWOJ and a very vocal and foremost activist in the journalism profession. She belonged to many journalism organisations and held fellowships from many renowned bodies. She will be sorely missed by all.
