Igwe said the situation was

The AFAN chairman also said Rivers Farmers were happy with the ongoing renovations of Moribund Farm Estates and facilities by the present administration.
“I want to commend Governor Wike for putting the interest of Rivers people above other interests.
“Before now Agriculture was not given serious attention in the state” he said.
Igwe also said the agricultural development programme of the state was helping to diversify the economy of the state from oil, thereby ensuring food sustainability for the state and creation of employment opportunities.
He also said the “Back To Farm” jingle of the government had boosted the state secretariat for registration forms.
confidence of Rivers farmers who are now rushing to the state secretariat for registration forms.
The AFAN chairman, however, urged the government to focus on cassava, plantain, fish and rice productions as the state had comparative advantage in these areas.
Igwe also urged for the provision of grants to farmers in the state to enable them participate actively in the programme.
