Monarch Tasks Govt On Oil Producing Communities’ Dev
The Amanyanabo of Idama Community in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, King Kariboye Karibo, has called on governments at all levels to focus more attention on the development of oil producing communities.
King Karibo, who said this in an interview with newsmen shortly after his marriage blessing at Idama recently, said most oil producing communities in the Niger Delta have no social amenities.
He said within the past one year of his ascension to the throne, illegal oil bunkering has reduced in the area and security has also improved.
While commending the management of Belema Oil for the on-going land reclamation in the area, the king, who claimed that oil exploration first started in Idama, however, said the community has not derived maximum benefits from its God-given resources.
King Karibo thanked the people for their massive support within the last one year as well as their mass turn out for the marriage, assuring them that his reign will usher in development and peace in the kingdom.
Meanwhile, the Vicar of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Idama, Rev. Innocent Karibo, has called on marriage couples to put God first in all their dealings
The clergyman said during the marriage blessing of the Idama Monarch that success of every marriage depended on the fear of God in herent in the couple.
He also told the king and his wife to cultivate the virtues of love and tolerance as well as consult each other before taking any decision.
