Female Singer, Waje Quits Music
Popular Nigerian female singer, Aituje Iruobe, professionally known as Waje has quit music. She made the announcement in a viral video with her friends on social media given reasons. Waje complained of lack of funds and support for her music.
She said: I’m quitting music because I don’t have money for music promotions and publicity, people were shouting Waje release album, I did, where are they now. I have so many responsibilities to take care of and music keeps taking the bulk of my money. I’m not willing to put in money there again, maybe it’s fair to give music a rest for now, I have released an album after everybody has been shouting Waje your last album is how many years ago? All the people that were shouting where are they?
“My daughter’s school fees is there, it’s like I have ten things lined out for everything, but it has always been music taking the bulk of the money, I am not willing to put money there anymore.”
Waje whose vocal range covers three octaves participated in the remake of P-Square’s Omoge Mi and on the duo’s 2008 hit track ‘Do Me,’ she was also on Banky W’s ‘Thief my Kele’, and M.I’s “One Naira,’ She has also associated with other music stars like Omawumi, Eldee, Lynxxx, Dencia and Patoran King. She had also shared the stage with Wyclef Jean in South Africa and made the opening for Kerry Hillton during a show organised in Calabar among other exploits in the music industry.
Her albums include “Red Velvet, and ‘W.A.J.E’ released under WME Label and Waje Entertainment. She is a talented Nigerian born singer, song writer and actress. W.A.J.E is an acronym for “Words Aren’t Just enough” and infact, if you have listened to one of this damsel’s rendition, you will also conclude that words aren’t enough to properly describe the power and potential of Aituaje Iruobe’s vocals.
The 39 years old mother of one and graduate of Social Work, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is from Akure, Ondo State capital. She was one of the judges in the inaugural season of Voice Nigeria among others.
She made her acting debut in the movie industry in a movie titled ‘Tunnel’ with Femi Jacobs, Patrick Doyles NSE Etini and Lepacious Bose.

They Booed, Threw Bottles At Me – Tems Recounts
R&B star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has recounted the early-career challenges she faced, revealing that she was once booed out of the stage while performing at a school event.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen, the Crazy Tings crooner shared that she wasn’t only booed but was also harassed with plastic bottles.
“I remember one time I was going to perform at my school as an up-and-coming singer and I thought I was going to receiving a standing ovation.
“But I got booed. They even threw plastic bottles at me,” she recalled.
Tems explained that despite the embarrassing incident and other such rejections, she remained determined to pursue a career in music.
The Tide Entertainment reports that Tems admitted that some of the initial rejections she faced could be due to her conviction to stick to her originality instead of doing covers or familiar sounds like most of her peers.
The Grammy-winning singer said looking back now, she is glad that she didn’t compromise her style despite the initial pressures.

Primeboy Pleads For Mohbad’s Burial
A close associate of late singer Mohbad, Primeboy, has appealed for the artiste’s burial nearly three years after his death.
According to him, Mohbad’s body remains in the mortuary since September 12, 2023, pending burial arrangements.
The Tide Entertainment reports that in a statement Primeboy urged the family, public, and government to permit the burial, stating, “It’s been almost three years since Mohbad left us. His body is still in the mortuary. I’m begging the family, I’m begging the public, I’m begging the government, please let’s bury our brother. He deserves a befitting burial.”
It would be recalled that Mohbad’s death sparked public outrage, protests, and investigations. Ongoing autopsy examinations, police inquiries, and legal proceedings have delayed burial arrangements amid family disagreements and public scrutiny.
