NUPENG Tasks FG On Bad Road
The National Union of Petroleum, Energy and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has decried the deplorable state of the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway which has led to difficulties on the part of road users.
The immediate Past Chairman of the Port Harcourt Zone of NUPENG, Comrade Alex Agwornwor disclosed this while speaking with The Tide in an interview during the weekend.
He called on the Federal Government to fast- track the reconstruction of the damaged sections of the road and safe its members and other road users from the teething challenges.
He pointed out that the poor state of the road has affected the smooth road has affected the smooth operations of its members who find it extremely difficult to carry out their operations.
Agwornwor who is now a national officer of NUPENG, said the timely reconstruction of the road will stop the accidents recorded by its members and ensure smooth supply and distribution of petroleum products.
He regretted the fact that the Port Harcourt Aba express road and the east west road, which are the major access routes to the economic base of the nation are left to faster into terrible states or disrepair by the federal government.
He commended the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for reconstructing the Eleme axis of the East West Road and urged other critical stakeholders to also assist in the regular maintenance of the road.
