Group Backs Wike’s 2nd Term Bid
A group, the Obio/Akpor Daughters of dignity Reloaded (OADDR) has declared its support for Governor Nyesom Wike’s second term, come 2019 general elections.
Speaking during the formal declaration ceremony in Rumuigbo, near Port Harcourt, the grand patron of the body, Chief Bright Amaewhule, said the group would play a very important role in the bid to return Governor Wike to the Brick House in 2019.
According to Amaewhule who doubles as the President General of the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI), the Obio/Akpor Daughters group would massively mobilise electorate in the local government towards ensuring that Governor Wike, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and other candidates of the party emerged victorious.
Also speaking, the Chairman, PDP, Obio/Akpor Chapter, Chukwuemeka Aaron, disclosed that the local government council had put in place a skills acquisition programme with about 400 participants which would also accommodate them as indigenes, including a health insurance scheme.
Aaron advised them to remain steadfast in the PDP as Governor Wike would not leave them out in his scheme of things.
