Landlord Arrested For Killing Four-Year-Old Tenant’s Child
A landlord, Sunday Omosule has been arrested for allegedly killing a four-year-old son of his tenant, Mr. Joseph Akpan.
The ugly incident according to a statement by the Ogun State Command Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, happened at No 23, Adeoye Street, Oko Baale Onipanu area of the State.
According to the PPRO, the suspect was arrested following a distress call made to the Onipanu Divisional Police Headquarters that the accused had gone wild by using a pestle to chase his tenants.
Oyeyemi in the statement said the mother of the victim was equally hit with the pestle before the landlord used the same object to hit the boy to death.
When interrogated, the landlord claimed that the reason for his action was nothing but a spiritual attack.
The PPRO, also a Deputy Superintendent of Police said, “On receiving the information, the DPO Onipanu Division, SP Sangobiyi Johnson led his men to the scene where the suspect was arrested.
“On interrogation, the suspect claimed to be under spiritual attacks which always made him behave erratically sometimes.
“The mother of the deceased, who also sustained injury has been taken to the hospital where she is responding to treatment, while the corpse of the victim has been deposited in the State hospital mortuary for autopsy.”
According to Oyeyemi, the suspect would be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further questioning and investigation on the order of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
