Andoni Endorses Wike For 2019
The people of Andoni Local Government Area have endorsed Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for 2019.
Besides, they also conferred the governor with the title of “Oru-Atang 1”- the doer of good for Andoni people at the coronation and thanksgiving for the Okaan-Ama of Ngo land, King Job Williams, Okuruket Nnabiget XIV, last Saturday, at Ngo Town, headquarters of Andoni Local Government Area.
Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Andoni Constituency, Rt. Hon Ikuinyi Ibani, said, ‘ the people of Andoni is solidly behind this administration…and we know that the mandate of the governor runs to 2023.”
Ibani said the people will ever remain grateful to Wike for the stool elevation, saying, “What we have been looking for decades, you gave us in four months. You have done well for the Andoni people”.
The Speaker noted that the elevation of the Ngo stool to a first class goes beyond Ngo land, emphasizing that the gesture was for the whole Andoni, and therefore, described Wike as “a Messenger and God sent”.
On his part, Caretaker Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Chief Allen Abbi, submitted that Wike deserves to stay up to 2023, considering the good things he has brought to Andoni land.
Apart from the chieftaincy stool elevation, Abbi stated that the governor has reconstructed the Ngo General Hospital, appointed prominent sons and daughters of the area in his administration, and was pursuing the completion of Ogoni/Andoni/Opobo Unity Road, which he asserted, will drive development to the communities in the area.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Rivers State Hospitals Management Board, Chief Silas Eneyo, held that Wike’s administration have brought unity and honour to the Andoni people.
Eneyo pledged the support of Andoni people to the administration, as he praised the newly elevated Ngo monarch as a patient man who despite opposition and litigation has remained peaceful and focused.
Eneyo called on the traditional ruler to ensure he unites Andoni traditional rulers and ensure peace in the domain.
Meanwhile, Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has assured that Andoni and Opobo people will drive to their homes before the next campaigns set in.
“I owe Andoni people a lot and whatever they deserve, they will get from this administration,” he said.
He enjoined the people of the area to support their new king to bring development to the area, explaining that it was the will of God that the Okaan Ama was recognized in due time after several years of tussle.
