Mrs Wike, Banigo Felicitate With Kids At Easter
The Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Suzette Nyesom Wike and the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, were among dignitaries that attended a Special Annual Easter Programme tagged ”Kids Without Limits” in Port Harcourt.
The programme, which attracted participants from several schools and churches within Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor local government areas, was held on Easter Monday at the Main Bowl of the Civil Centre, Port Harcourt.
Justice Suzette Wike, who was represented at the occasion by the wife of the state Finance Commissioner, Mrs. Anthonia Kpakol, lauded the Coordinator of the programme, Pastor Ene Secondus, for her vision to sow into the lives of young ones and equip them for a sound Christian life.
Mrs. Wike urged the children to practice the lessons taught at the programme to enable them grow up as future leaders with the fear of God.
Speaking as Chairman of the occasion, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, thanked the Helpmate of the Truevine Women International Outreach, Pastor Ene Secondus, for organizing the annual Easter programme for children to enable them imbibe Christian virtues early in life.
Banigo also acknowledged the work of the various teachers and coordinators of the children for their brilliant performances, adding that the programme was targeted at catching young people for Christ.
The deputy governor said Jesus is a friend to those who believe in Him, noting that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was the reason for the Easter celebration.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the programme and Pastor of the Truevine Women International Outreach, Helpmate Ene Secondus, said children are so dear to God, and her vision was to lay a solid Christian foundation for the future of the children.
Secondus explained that the theme of the programme: ”Jesus the True Friend”, embraces children between the ages of three and 14 years, pointing out that testimonies abound for the previous events of the programme.
The event featured exhortation by Pastor Sani Sunday of the Children Ministry, music, dance, drama and bible quiz competition, amongst others.
