RSUST VC Kicks Against Certificate Discrimination
The Rivers State University of Science and Technology has expressed its determination to expunge on policies which discriminates against the enrollment of foreign students into the institution.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Blessing Didia gave the indication recently while recovering a delegation of a Cameroonian Community in Rivers State who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
Prof. Didia maintained that his administration attaches high premium to foreign students in view of its positive implication on the global rating of the institution assuring the delegation that the complaints of certificate discrimination will henceforth, be a thing of the past.
He urged the members of delegation including Alumni of the university to partner with the institution in order to realize the objectives of the founding fathers, stressing that the Alumni building under construction would soon be ready for use.
Earlier, the national president of Cameroonian Community in Nigeria, Takam Celestine had solicited the cooperation of the Vice Chancellor to look into the complaints of discrimination against Cameroun advanced certificate for direct entry into the university, noting a good number of Cameroonians including him, graduated from the school in flying colours.
