The Tide NUJ Loses Two Members
Members of the Nigeria
Union of Journalists (NUJ), The Tide Chapel, have commiserated with the families of late Mr Isaac Nwankwo and Justus Awaji over their untimely demise.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, Mr Felix Okogbule and the Secretary, Amadi Akujobi, the union described the death of the two former members as a great tragedy to The Tide Chapel and the union in general.
The statement further described the deceased as erudite and hard working journalists who were committed members who displayed professionalism in their respective beats while alive, adding that the union would ever remember them for their vast contributions that helped in the development of the union both at the chapel and state council levels.
The union while condoling with the bereaved families urged them to take solace in the hands of God, adding that as mortals, “we lack the words to question the Almighty at a time like this.”
The union prayed the Almighty God to grant the departed colleagues eternal rest in his bossom, even as it urged members to participate fully in the two burials slated to hold simultaneously on Saturday 5th September, 2015 in Eberi in Omuma Local Government Area and at Asarama in Andoni Local Government Area, both in Rivers State.
Mr Isaac Nwankwo was until his death Deputy Editor, Sports Desk while, late Justus Awaji, was The Tide Abuja Bureau Chief.
