Seven Companies Qualify For Warri Port Terminal Concession
Out of the 13 bidders
for Expressions of Interest for the Old Warri Port Terminal “B” concession, seven have been invited as prequalified prospective concessionaires by the National Council of Privitisation (NCP) through the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).
The Head of Communication, Bureau of Public Enterprises, Mr Chigbo Anichebe, made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, recently.
In the statement, the seven prequalified bodies that successfully met the 70 per cent mark from the evaluation for the terminal should be issued with the Request for Proposals.
According to the statement, those who succeed in the bidding exercise include Transnet Rosehill Group, Marine Infrastructure Consortium, Bright Ocean Integrated Service, Neon Adani Ports Consortium, Solent Stevedores International, Ecomarine Consortium and Global Infrastructure.
It further stated that the evaluation was based on responsive and detailed assessment tests of the EOIs in which only seven qualified, adding that the Evaluation Committee recommended 70 per cent as the minimum pass mark to qualify for the next level for the issuance of the Request for Proposals.
It would be recalled that a Delta State-based maritime group under the auspices of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Warri Port Stakeholders Forum have indicted the Vice President, Namadi Sambo over the bidding process, threatening that President Goodluck Jonathan should look into the matters on ground as they regard the bidding as fraudulent as it violate he relevant laws governing such concessions.
