Guber Poll: Rivers CAN Endorses, Peterside, Ihunwo

As the April 11 gubernatorial election draws closer across the country, members of the Rivers State chapter of the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), youth wing, have endorsed the candidature of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Dakuku Peterside as their sole candidate for the election.
The group also endorsed the candidate of the Independent Democratic Party (IDP) for the state House Assembly in Obio/Akpor constituency II, Pastor Samuel Ihunwo.
Addressing journalists after an ordinary meeting of the body at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) office near Sani Abacha Road, GRA, Port Harcourt, Monday, the President of the group, Mr Ekiye C Ekiye, said the essence of the meeting was to publicly declare their support for the APC gubernatorial candidate as well as that of the Independent Democratic candidate in the state.
Ekiye said that the APC gubernatorial candidate stands tall among all other candidates in the April 11 governorship elections, adding that voting for the APC candidate means voting for equity, fairness and one Rivers State.
He used the opportunity to c all on Christians youth, mothers and fathers in the state to vote massively for Peterside as well as the Independent Democratic candidate for Obio/Akpor constituency II in the state Assembly during Saturday’s election in the state.
Ekiye urged youth in the state, especially Christians, not to indulge themselves in any act that would promote violence during the up coming elections.
Also speaking, the Independent Democratic Party candidate for Obio/Akpor II for the state House of Assembly, Pastor Samuel Ihunwo said he has confidence that he will win the election owing to the massive support from his people, adding that when elected, he would sponsor a bill that would make everybody a citizen in the state.
