Etche Monarch Warns On Insecurity, Vices
The Onye-Ishi-Agwuru
Akwukabi/Obibi/Ikem Clan in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, His Royal Highness, Eze Stanley Munonye Ogbu has declared zero tolerance in the fight against insecurity and other social vices in the area.
Eze Ogbu who made the disclosure during a security/strategic meeting with members of Akwukabi Town Supreme Council held in his Palace at Umuezibe Akwukabi, last Sunday said all hands must be on deck to ensure that lives and properties within the clan were protected noting that security cannot be left in the hands of government alone.
According to him, no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of rancour stating that people of the clan particularly, Akwukabi Town were noted for their peaceful disposition and hospitality.
He decried the level of illicit activities that had crept into the community recently, stressing that if no concerted effort was taken to address the situation, it could degenerate.
The Onye-Ishi-Agwuru urged members of the council to work out measures that would help to curtail and stamp out insecurity and other social vices in the area.
While assuring the group of his determination and readiness to assist them deliver on the mandate given them, Eze Ogbu thanked the people for their support.
Earlier in their speeches, Chief Jamike Omesurum and the Chairman of Akwukabi Town Supreme Council, Mr. Vincent Onu and the youth leader, Etche LGA, Comrade Precious Dike thanked the royal father for the meeting and pledged their commitment to the task given to them.
