13,200 Teachers: Biometric Data Capture Begins Today

L-R: Supervising Minister of National Planning, Ambassodor Bashir Yuguda, General Director, Globalisation Development and Partnerships, French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anne-Marie Descotes and Deputy Director, Development Cooperation Directorate, Mr Serge Tomasi, at the leading group on innovative financing for development in Abuja, last Friday.
The biometric data capture of the 13,200 newly recruited teachers in Rivers State will commence today with teachers under the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB) posted to schools in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
A statement from the office of the Head of Service and singed by the Press Officer, Bamson George Ene, indicates that the exercise will hold at Room 601, on the Sixth floor, Point Block, Wing A, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt, this morning.
The statement advised those affected to come along with originals and photocopies of their letters of Appointment, First School Leaving Certificate, Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age and a letter from the Head teacher of their respective schools.
It further advised teachers under RSUBEB posted to other local government areas of the state to check their scheduled dates for the biometric data capture on the notice boards of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, the Ministry of Education and the Ground Floor of Point Block in the State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt, from Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
The statement urged those affected to adhere strictly to their scheduled dates to avoid overcrowding and ensure orderly conduct during the exercise.
It would be recalled that the state, in an unprecedented move last year, engaged over 13,000 teachers and posted them to schools across the state, a move that has elimated shortage of teachers and non-academic staff in the schools.
