Rukpokwu Town in Obio/
Akpor Local Government Area (OBALGA) has become the new entertainment destination for fun seekers and tourists who besiege the area  every weekend to catch raw fun in a relaxed environment.
The Town flaunts an array of different classes of hotels, drinking joints and other hangouts that also operate as night clubs. These are the major attractions to all classes of fun lovers. Another major attraction is the relatively peaceful town, with their vigilante groups and other state security operatives.

The managing director of the Read Hotel and Towers, Mr Austin Isigba who spoke with The Tide Entertainment at the official opening of the R-Lounge and Karoke bar recently, said with his experience in the hospitality business he noticed that Rukpokwu is a viable town for the hospitality industry.
He therefore deemed it necessary to establish his hospitality and entertainment outfit in the town to rebrand the industry in the area to international standards.
Isigba also observed that the long human and vehicular traffic experienced in the Rukpokwu axis everyday is a clear indication that a lot of people live or do business in the area, “it is quite obvious that the population is shifting to the town”, he stressed.
According to him, Read Hotels and Towers with its entertainment crew, is a preferred alternative to guests and other fun lovers to catch fun instead of going to GRA and other distance places.
According to the successful business tycoon and one of the big players in garden city’s hospitality climate and show business, apart from entertainment, the hotel also provides the traditional services of hotel business with a touch of class comfort and relaxation for its the numerous guests, who see the hotel  as another home away from home.
Mr. Isigba maintained that though the hospitality business is lucreative here in Port Harcourt, there are serious financial challenges that snatches away the profits. They include, cost of diesel to power, the generators due to irregular power supply, cost of maintenance, servicing of security operatives, salaries and other logistics.
He  said if you factor the costs you will realise that you have nothing to write home about at the end of the day. He however, expressed hope that with regular power supply peace and security the industry will continue to grow, provide more employment opportunities and more money for government.
