Amoo Denies Resigning From Sunshine Stars
Sunshine Stars technical adviser, Fatai Amoo has denied resigning from the Glo Premier League club in spite of lingering crises.
Sunshine were knocked out of the Federation Cup last week by Nasarawa United, and Amoo and some players have failed to return to their posts after fans of the Akure-based club attacked their team following the defeat to the Solid Miners.
The former coach of 3SC denied reports in the media that he had resigned, but disclosed that he opted to stay away from Akure as result of threats to his life, and would only return when his security and that of his players is assured.
According to reports several players were manhandled, while goalkeeper Moses Ocheje was injured by glass splinters from the smashed window of a club vehicle.
Efforts to contact the chairman of the club Mike Idoko to clarify the lingering crises at the club proved abortive, as his phone was switched off.
