RSG Lauds PSN Over Donation To Flood Victims

The Rivers State Flood Relief Committee has lauded the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria(PSN), Rivers State Branch for donating relief materials to victims of the flood disaster in the state.
The state commissioner for special duties, Hon. Emeka Nwogu, made the commendation while receiving the relief materials on behalf of the committee at Government House, Port Harcourt.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in his ministry, Dame Mina Benibo, Hon. Nwogu expressed satisfaction with the donation describing it as a right step in the right direction and assured that “the relief materials would get to the beneficiaries “, in the affected local government areas.
Earlier, state chairman of the pharmaceutical society of Nigeria (PSN) Elizabeth Odili, said that they are donating the relief materials to the flood victims because “we feel the plight of our fellow citizens and we are interested in their well-being”, adding that the relief materials, which include water guard, simple medicaments and others, is a gesture of pharmacists in the state. I she stressed that it is with the aim of ameliorating the health challenges faced by the flood victims in their various camps.
Also speaking , secretary of the state flood relief committee and director of boundary in the office of the Deputy Governor, Barr. ThankGod Ekine, decried the devastating effect of the flood across the state and called on other well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to emulate the good gesture of the PSN. He urged them to join hands with the state government in tackling the challenges faced by the flood victims.
