ABEC Tasks Parents On Qualitative Education
The management of Archdeacon Brown Education Centre (ABEC), has called on parents to give their children qualitative education that would help them grow mentally, physically and spiritually.
The managing director of ABEC Group of Schools, Dame (Dr) Christie Toby made the call in an address she presented on the ABEC Unity Day in Port Harcourt, weekend.
Dame Christie Toby emphasised that when children are given qualitative education, they would become accomplished persons who are confident, reliable, intelligent and able to hold on to their own at any given time with real confidence.
According to her, the schools were established to solve the yearning desires of well-meaning parents who know and appreciate the values of proper education, adding that advice from parents would be appreciated as it would make the schools to perform better.
While ABEC Secondary school is strictly a boarding school where all the rudiments of the total development of the child is, Christie Toby inclusive takes care, of not only the physically-challenged but admits regular students hence it is an inclusive education centre.
“They relate very well and work hard to excel. More than any thing is that they appreciate themselves- an opportunity to get them grow into better informed citizens, she explained.
She urged the staff not to rest on their gars because they have get to stay on the top and anything less would be unacceptable.
Dame Toby appealed to the media houses continue to enlighten the public on the need for qualitative education saying that is the only way the quality of life of Nigeria would improve.
Her words: “Education is the way our individual and collective destiny can be changed.”
In a remark, the chairman of the occasion, Dr. Nwobo Augustine, who described the ABEC Unity Day is unique noted that it was a day of bringing every child from all the arms of the schools together to share expenses and relate well.
Dr. Augustine commended the management of ABEC for creating the group of schools as well as making it workable.
He remarked that the pupils’ and students’ performance indicated that the teachers did a very good job which able shows that parents’ investment in this children are yielding good results.
Highlights of the occasion where cultural dance, drama sketch by pupils and students and presentation of trophies to best performing groups.
