Amaechi Pledges Support For Private Investors
Governor Chibuike Amaechi, has assured private investors in the state of government’s support, as far as it would create employment opportunities for the citizenry.
He gave the assurance when the management team of Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Noodles paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Port Harcourt.
Amaechi said he was impressed by the huge investment effort of the pasta producing company in the state and congratulated them on their new expansion plans.
His words, “Let me congratulate you on the completion of your factories in Choba, but like as you said we only know about the Indomie factory but if there are other expansions we are greatly pleased even as we hope that even those ones will provide employment for the people of Rivers State, especially for the people living around and doing business in Choba. We are so greatly pleased with your expansion.’’
Earlier, Managing Director of the company, Mr Bagu Muki intimated the Governor of the progress made by the firm in its expansion quest.
He noted that the infrastructural development embarked upon by the government had provided a conducive environment for further expansion and diversification,’’ our group has been here in Rivers State for about 30 years. We started with a humble trading company and we have grown into manufacturing sector through investments’’.
Mr Muki while expressing appreciation for government’s gesture in providing an enabling environment for investors stated, as our landlord, we have come here today to showcase a small investment that we have been doing in your state. We have a few factories at Choba, Rivers State’’.
From an indomie factory, Mr Muki submitted that the company had doubled and even trippled production with a new pasta manufacturing factory.
Currently, he disclosed that the company’s networth is over 80million dollars as it plans to set up a new flour mill. He further stated that it plans to diversify into haulage business, building of sea ports and a free trade zones as the federal government has given it approval to do so.
The company, he further stated, employed over 1000 workers while its operations provides business opportunities for distributors and transporters within and outside the state.
