The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture(PHCCIMA) says it has commenced plans to revive the entertainment industry in Rivers State through collaboration with local artistes.
President of PHCCIMA, Engr Vincent Furo made the plans public during a chat with newsmen weekend, on its Valentine Music Fiesta.
Speaking through his Deputy President, Emeka Unachukwu, the PHCCIMA boss noted that the body was seeking ways to exploit the huge musical and artistic talents in the state.

“PHCCIMA wants to complement the effort of government,” he said,” “so whatever will grow the tourism and the entertainment sector we are ready to support”.
Engr Furo therefore called on local artistes to collaborate with the commerce body in promoting the industry as he assured that the chamber was ready to sponsor any viable programme to improve the livelihood of people.
Speaking more on the Valentine programme Engr Furo said it would help fish out hidden talents, harness, encourage budding artistes.
The four day programme is being organised together with Port Harcourt artiste and Zoom cronnie Oba Omega together with Tony Harmony from Ghana
It would feature special dancing competitions, comedy and a host of other side attractions which would attract prizes.
He further explained,” for us in PHCCIMA our effort in canvassing for the advancement of Rivers State youths has been unprecedented. We have a deliberate policy of striving to get youths empowered to enable them shy away from social vices”.
The PHCCIMA boss maintained that the body would continue to address the plight of youths as he called on corporate bodies and public spirited individuals to close ranks and articulate programmes that would encourage and harness the potentials of the youths.
