RSG Sponsors 2,200 Pilgrims To Israel
The Rivers State Government will sponsor a total of 2,200 Christian pilgrims to Israel, the Holy Land this year.
A breakdown of the figure comprises 2185 pilgrims and 15 members of the state cultural troupe.
A statement signed by the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Very Rev. Monsignor John Wangbu, indicates that the final result of the screening exercise for prospective Christians applicants for 2011 pilgrimage to the holy land had been published at the establishment’s notice board, at the state secretariat complex, Port Harcourt.
Rev. Wangbu therefore advised all intending pilgrims to cross check their names for more information.
The Sole Administrator explained that the orientation exercise and church service for pilgrims would hold on Saturday, November 12 at St. Paul’s Cathedral Garrison, Port Harcourt by 10am.
He said attendance by all intending pilgrims was mandatory, noting that batching of pilgrims would commence soon.
Rev. Wangbu also said that immunisation of all pilgrims would commence on the 10 of November, 2011, and advised all pilgrims to come along with their international passport and one passport photograph for visa card.
