Mrs Amaechi Makes Case For Less – Privileged
Wife of Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi, has charged people in authority to use their position to help the less privileged in the society.
Dame Amaechi made the call during the 7th Annual Conference of True Vine International, in Port Harcourt.
She noted that those in position of authority should advance the interest of the less privileged in the society.
In her words, “it is very pertinent for those in authority to use their positions to glorify God and touch lives of people who are downtrodden and less privileged among us.”
Dame Amaechi warned that those who misuse such opportunity and hurt the less privileged would incur the wrath of God. “Life will be vanity if it is not founded on the word of God. We must realise that our positions should be able to open doors of opportunity for others.”
She told the congregation that she received her premonition to cater for the less privileged at St. Mary’s Catholic Church adding that her resolve to upgrade the education of the less privileged children in the state was unshakable. “I got a message at St. Mary’s Catholic Church to build 319 schools for Early Child Care Development and education in the state.
She added that the main factor responsible for corruption in the country is so much quest and desire for material benefits, “God put you in position to help others, he put you there to use your office to help humanity, those who fail to do this tend to amass wealth which in turn corrupt their minds and that is the challenge we have in our country.”
