Commissioner Seeks Monarch’s Counselling
The Rivers State Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, Hon. Charles Okaye, has said that his visit to traditional rulers was aimed at identifying their plight as they relate to his ministry.
The commissioner who during a visit to the Paramount Ruler of Woji in Obio/Akpor Local Government, Eze (Dr) Frank Eke (Eze Gbakagbaka) noted that the visit would also afford him the opportunity of seeking the monarch’s wise counsel as custodian of the peoples tradition and culture..
Hon Okayo ascribed the relative peaceful co-existence witnessed in the state today to the hardwork of traditional, rulers in cooperation with the state government stressing that royal fathers played vital role in the restoration of peace.
The Eze Gbakagbaka of Evo Kingdom, Eze Oha Evo ll, HRM, Frank Eke, lauded the council that for being humble enough to seek the arise of traditional rulers.
The traditional ruler also used the forum to express dissatisfaction over recent developments in the country, adding that it could be difficult to change except Nigerians learnt how to do it right and prayed God to guide the government toward the right direction.
