The new paramount ruler of Iriebe Community in the Obio/Akpor local Government Area, HRH Eze Michael Eleto has promised to unite Iriebe with its neighbouring communities.
Eze Eleto who said this in an interview with newsmen shortly after his installation last weekend also promised to liaise with the state government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to attract development to the community.
The Monarch described his emergence as the wish of the people, having served as deputy to the late Monarch Eze Francis Amadi who died early this year.
According to him, this situation has further placed him in a vantage position to know more about the various problems affecting the community and urged the people to be peaceful at all times and also support him in the task of achieving the desired result, adding that by the grace of God Iriebe community would take its rightful place among oil producing communities in Rivers State.
Also speaking, the eldest man in the community Chief Charles Eleto described the new Monarch as a symbol of unity having been accepted by all in the area.
Meanwhile, indigenes and non indigenes of Iriebe community have been felicitating with the new ruler, among whom, is a former councillor, Francis Eleto who described the ruler as populist and grassroot man who will take the area to the next level of development.
He said the ruler is a detribalised man committed to the interest and welfare of his people and urged the monarch to bring his wealth of experience to bear during his stewardship.
